In 2009 he gave Tromsø Sports a gift of 10 million to support the club in a financially difficult year. In 2012 received the St. Olav’s Hospital in Trondheim 50 million to a PET-MRI scanner.
Bergen Research Foundation was created in 2004 through a donation of 250 million from Trond Mohn. He has given 100 million to the University of Tromsø.
